Green Party presidential candidate Jill Stein has raised enough money to demand recounts in Wisconsin, Michigan and Pennsylvania. President-elect Donald Trump immediately weighed in and called the demand “a scam.”

On Sunday, former Democratic presidential primary candidate Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) spoke about Stein’s efforts with anchorwoman Dana Bash on CNN’s “State of the Union.”

When asked if he supported her efforts, Sanders said that while “there’s nothing wrong with going through the process” of a recount, he did not expect any change in the election’s outcome:

Sanders also criticized the Electoral College, arguing that it did not allow certain states to participate in the political process:

Sanders’ assessment of the Electoral College is contested by others, who say that abolishing it would guarantee that an even smaller handful of areas in the country would decide every presidential election.
