Initially, we were a little bit surprised to learn that Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani found romance on the set of NBC’s “The Voice.”
But as it turns out, we weren’t the only ones with the surprised reaction.
In fact, even “The Voice” producer Mark Burnett admitted that he, too, was quite shocked that a flame formed between Blake and Gwen on the hit show. According to People, Mark attended the 2016 Emmy Awards on Sept. 18. There, he said, “I had no idea by coming to work on a fun music show they would find the loves of their life, but the light exploded and they are happier than you can imagine.”
Fans may recall that Blake and Gwen became friends during difficult circumstances. Blake was dealing with heartache from splitting with ex-wife Miranda Lambert, while Gwen was hurting over her failed marriage of 13 years with ex-husband Gavin Rossdale. And, despite Mark’s stunned reaction over the couple’s spark, he’s full of support for his pals.
“People go through peaks and valleys, lights and dark times in their lives, and you always have to look ahead to the lights in the journey,” said Mark, “So in the case of Blake and Gwen, both have had some dark times, emotionally in their relationships.”
Now that it’s been nearly a year since Blake and Gwen hit it off, rumors are going rampant that they will elope. Heck, even Mark has a hunch that they’ll be hearing wedding bells soon. And, when that day rolls around, he wants to be front and center!
“We are all thrilled to be their friends and see the happiness,” said Mark adding, “I’m really hoping that I get invited to the wedding.”
Thus far, the couple has remained pretty tight-lipped about the potential of saying “I do.” In a previous report, Rare Country shared that Gwen even stumbled on her words when asked about the possibility of walking down the aisle with Blake.

“That’s so funny. I don’t know. God, I don’t know. Everything’s going so quickly. I’m in the moment. Look, you got me tongue-tied,” said Gwen to radio host Ryan Seacrest.
Either way, they seem to be over-the-moon for each other doing things on their time. And, if or when they tie the knot, we’re pretty confident Mark will be on the guest list. After all, they do have “The Voice” to thank for their sweet, sweet love.
