The wife of Orlando nightclub shooter Omar Mateen has been arrested

The wife of Pulse nightclub shooter Omar Matteen has been arrested in connection to the June mass shooting.

According to CNN, FBI Spokesperson Prentice Danner confirmed that Noor Salman was arrested in San Francisco on Monday.

Salman has been under scrutiny as the investigation in Mateen continued. Salman married Mateen in 2011 and reportedly gave conflicting accounts about what she knew of Mateen’s actions during the June 2016 incident that left 49 members of the LGBTQ community dead and injured several others. She did tell investigators that Mateen spent thousands of dollars in the weeks before the attack, some of the money reportedly went to guns used in the massacre.

Shortly after her arrest, news of the possible charges started pouring in on social media.

Karla Ray, a reporter for WFTV in Orlando, tweeted that the charges are “obstruction of justice & aiding/abetting the attempted provision of material support to a foreign terrorist [organization.]
