If you’ve never had beer cheese dip, now is the time to dive on in.

The yeasty beer brings out the sharp flavor of cheddar in this delicious dish, which will be a hit on game day.

Pretzels are the perfect accompaniment and they actually aren’t that hard to make at home with this hack: biscuit dough. Prepackaged biscuits apparently turn into pretzels if you boil them instead of baking.

Once you boil the dough, arrange the mini pretzels in a ring around a skillet and brush the tops with egg wash. Mix up the dip ingredients, place them in the middle of the bread ring and bake.

  • 1 1/2 c. grated cheddar, plus more for sprinkling
  • 1/2 c. grated mozzarella
  • 8 oz. cream cheese, softened
  • 1 tbsp. Dijon mustard
  • 2 tbsp. chopped chives, plus more for garnish
  • 1 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1/4 c. pale ale
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 2 tbsp. baking soda
  • 1 can refrigerated biscuits
  • Egg wash
  • Coarse salt, for sprinkling
