This dashboard camera catches a policeman doing something we should all do more of

Look around, pay attention. There are opportunities everywhere to make a difference.

In Rosenberg, Texas, Police Sergeant Ariel Soltura was driving through town when he saw a young boy throwing around the football by himself, and decided to stop for a quick game of catch. For the next 2 minutes, the two threw the ball around, and it was all caught on his dashboard camera.

This might seem like a small thing. Just two minutes out of this manʼs day. To the boy, however, it could mean everything. Soltura certainly understands that these little moments make a big difference.

On the Rosenberg Police Departmentʼs Facebook page, Soltura said:

I am…simply a man on a mission to better police WITH and interact WITH the community I serve.

Like me, there are millions of brothers and sisters in blue that replicate the “game of catch” in some way, 24 hours a day/ 365 days a year, without fail.

Police officers across the world possess a multitude of awesome qualities within them and only one of those, is the badge they wear.

I encourage anyone to go out and drop a “positive” stone into the “world pond”, as you never know how far reaching the ripples will be.

The young boy in the video now says that, when he grows up, he wants to be a football player or a policeman. Now those are some positive ripples.
