Carson extended his prayers.
Dr. Ben Carson announced that he suspended his campaign for the rest of the day Tuesday and that he is traveling to Omaha, Neb. to be with the family of a campaign volunteer who was left in “grave condition” after a crash in Iowa earlier in the day.
The decision to suspend the campaign and fly out to Omaha is one Carson’s supporters see as proof that he has his priorities in order.
Carson made the announcement after receiving word that a van transporting three campaign volunteers and one campaign employee hit a patch of ice in Iowa at 11 a.m. flipped on its side and was hit by another vehicle, leaving one volunteer in “grave condition.”
Carson will be traveling to the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha to be with the volunteer’s family. Reporter Bill Burr tweeted that the crash victim who had it the worst is in “grave condition.”
The three others were also hospitalized.
