It doesn’t happen very often, so when Blake Shelton brings a younger fan onstage during one of his shows, you can bet the crowd loses their minds.
Maybe it doesn’t happen very often because once the youngsters are onstage, Blake doesn’t quite know what to do with them, at least when they’re as preciously starstruck as one young lady who joined Blake and RaeLynn at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn on Oct. 8.
As Blake and his tour opener rolled into the crowd-pleasing “Boys ‘Round Here,” they welcomed a pony-tailed country cutie in plaid and cowboy boots to the stage. She clasped her hands over her mouth and her eyes were as big as saucers as the country singer handed her one of his guitar picks. Every time Blake bent over to sing to her, she became breathless with sweet excitement.
Eventually, she got used to the music, the lights and the roar of the crowd and loosened up enough to get into the moment a little bit. That is, until Blake touched her arm or leaned over to sing to her, then her eyes widened again and her little mouth opened in an “oh my gosh” expression.
This was the last weekend for Blake’s fall tour as he breaks to focus on his obligation as a winning mentor on “The Voice” and his relationship with pop superstar Gwen Stefani.
