It was another competitive night on NBC’s “The Voice,” as two contestants in the Top 10 got sent home during the results episode on Nov. 29.

Team Blake members, Austin Allsup and Courtney Harrell, along with Team Miley’s Aaron Gibson, all appeared in the bottom three. Each of them took the stage with solo performances in hopes to stick around.

When it came time for Courtney to battle her way for a spot in the Top 8, she made it count. She crooned Rascal Flatts’ smash hit, “Bless The Broken Road.”

In this video, Courtney steps into the spotlight and throws all of her emotion into the glorious ballad. She made it clear that she can hold her own in the country genre. She delivers all of the right notes and sings the song as if she wrote it. Toward the end of the song, Courtney showed off her soprano skills — a moment that brought coaches Alicia Keys and Blake Shelton to their feet.

“That was very beautiful,” praised Alicia, “I feel your heart is very pure every time that you sing. Life is so crazy. It tries to put us into these little boxes and places where we are supposed to fit, but I think through this time I’ve watched you burst out of those places. I love it.”

Blake then added, “Courtney, I guess the thing I’d want to say to you is that I hope you understand and realize now that your instincts for doing this were right. I mean look how far you’ve made it into this competition. Look how far America has taken you into this competition. You’re doing the right thing.”

Even though the coaches gave Courtney high remarks, it was up to America to save her. Unfortunately, she didn’t make the cut this time around, but she did exit the show on a strong note.

Courtney said, “Blake, I came here to face my biggest fear of being seen, heard and rejected. You have helped me through that, and tonight, I am free. I thank you.”

“The Voice” airs Monday and Tuesday nights on NBC.
