There has been a crises filling the minds of many across the Southeast. Gas shortages in the regions have hit the Carolinas especially hard – so much so that both states still find themselves in a state of emergency.

So, it’s no surprise that country music fans looking forward to attending Toby Keith’s Sept. 22 concert at the Florence Civic Center were concerned not only if they would have the gas to get to the venue, but also just how expensive it would be to get there.

That’s why Toby did what he knew instinctively was the right thing to do. He postponed his concert.

“This is a major show for the region, which attracts fans within a one- to two-hour drive and beyond,” explained Florence Civic Center General Manager, Kendall Wall. “We understand the growing concerns for Toby’s fans and our own fans as we’ve been receiving distress messages over the past couple days. It would be unfair for these fans and unrealistic for them to travel given the current dismal situation with gas prices and availability.”

But don’t fear Toby Keith fans. The show has been rescheduled to now take place on March 9, 2017.
