Country music superstar Blake Shelton has been all over lately sharing picturessongs and a whole bunch of online flirting with his new love Gwen Stefani.

But there is another woman on his mind as of late.

That woman goes by the name of Miranda Lambert.

As we all know, Lambert and Shelton made up one of country music’s favorite couples until their shocking divorce back in July 2015. And ever since that time, country fans have been wondering – when will their painful story make it into their music?

Well, it looks like the time has come. In a recent interview with Country Countdown USA’s Lon Helton, Shelton mentioned that this last year has inspired much of the material on his upcoming new album.

“All the awful things that happened in my personal life this year, but the way the year has ended is also the greatest year in my life,” Shelton admitted. “I found some people in my life that have changed my life forever. Some has been bad and some that’s been pretty good. I’m doing what I’m supposed to do, and that’s put all I’ve gone through and put it into music, and I never felt more connected to a record before. When people hear this record, they may not know what happened to me, but they’re gonna know how I felt about it. And that’s exciting for me, to just lay it out there for people.”

In the same interview, Shelton expressed his hope that he would have the first new single out in January 2016 and the album release in May. “I want to get it out there,” Shelton continued. “It’s driving me nuts to not be already into that project because it’s all I’m thinking about. I hope the album can come out in May, and people can be knowing, if they’re interested, what I’ve been going through, the good and bad.”
