An Australian service station employee was probably glad they were stocked up on candy.

CCTV footage shows the alarming moment a driver pulls up in a black Hyundai, wearing all black along with a black balaclava while wielding a metal bar in an attempt to rob the store. An employee standing by the front door acted quickly by grabbing bags of candy on the shelf and throwing them at the man.

According to Maitland Mercury, the incident happened in the town of Aberdare in New South Wales on Nov. 20 around 5:45 a.m.


The attempted robber, who had two accomplices, hopped back in the Hyundai parked outside the store and fled from the scene. Eventually, the car was found burnt in the city of Bellbird.
