It was an ordinary Thursday night, as Blake Shelton and his entourage strolled into the quiet town of Peoria, Illinois to play a show as part of his current “2016 Fall Tour Presented by Gildan.”

And as the thousands in attendance got comfortable in the confines of the arena, many thoughts turned to having to work the next day. Sure, Blake would put on an amazing show as usual, but chances were slim that this show would stand out from the rest.

We mean, it was a Thursday night and there was no way Gwen would show up in a place like Peoria, right?

The crowd at the Peoria Civic Center went nuts on Sept. 15 when they noticed Blake’s gal pal Gwen, who was donning a barely there black bra, step onstage to sing their duet “Go Ahead And Break My Heart.” The surprise performance came just days after the two showed up in Oklahoma to perform together as part of Blake’s tour.

Who knows if Gwen will hitch a ride on Blake’s bus as he prepares for a two-night stint in Minnesota on Sept. 16-17 or how many more times she will show up before the tour wraps on Oct. 8. We can only hope for more intimate moments like these along the way.
