When comedian Robin Williams passed away, the world lost one if it’s brightest comedic minds, who transcended generations with his unique brand of humor. For the city of San Francisco, they lost one of their own.
Prior to game 5 of the 2014 World Series, the San Francisco Giants welcomed Williams’ three children to the game to honor their father’s memory. Robin’s son, Zak Williams, had the honor of throwing out the first pitch to comedian Billy Crystal, a dear friend to Mr. Williams.
“For all of us, it is a tremendous delight and a little surreal to throw out the ceremonial first pitch of a World Series game for our team to our dad’s best friend. We could not think of a better way to celebrate his memory. Let’s go Giants!” the Williams children said in a statement before the game.
