Country star Jimmy Wayne is best known as a singer and songwriter who has seen much success on the charts with songs such as “Stay Gone,” “I Love You This Much,” “Do You Believe Me Now” and his incredible cover of the Hall & Oates hit “Sara Smile.” He also made headlines with his inspiring walk from Nashville to Phoenix back in 2010 in support of a number of pieces of foster care legislation.

But even Jimmy couldn’t dream as big as what he accomplished on the afternoon of Sept.19.

According to a video shared on his Facebook page, Jimmy was given the honor to sing in front of President George H.W. Bush.

“At Walker’s Point in Maine at the home of President George H. W. Bush,” wrote Jimmy. “The Points of Light group asked me to sing a song – I didn’t have my guitar and the only songs I know a cappella are the national anthem and “How Great Thou Art.” President Bush sang along.”

President Bush not only sang along, but also teared up as the group sweetly sang the impromptu version of one of the world’s most well-known hymns. “Now you have everybody crying,” someone says toward the end of the video.

What a true statement that turned out to be.
