This wasn’t supposed to be part of Robby Gordon’s story. Robby Gordon has always been known as a motor sports star, a lover of speed and an incredibly devoted family man.

Yet, on Sept. 15, Robby’s story added a chapter that no one ever saw coming.

The deaths of Robby’s father, Robert “Baja Bob” Gordon, and stepmother, Sharon Gordon, were already deemed as mysterious as Robby made a statement outside what was the home he grew up in.

“This is devastating,” Robby said, fighting back tears. “He taught so many, and I want everyone to know what a good man he was.”

But that evening, more details emerged. According to the “Orange Country Register,” autopsy results have revealed that Bob “died from injuries consistent with a self-inflicted gunshot wound,” while Sharon “died from strangulation.”

Officials say that every indication is pointing toward a murder-suicide. “There’s no witnesses,” said Lt. Fred Lopez of the Orange Police Department. “So that’s something we have to put together piecemeal. We have some ideas. But it’s all speculation. …We’ll eventually come to (an official) conclusion.”

Our thoughts and prayers continue to remain centered on the Gordon family at this horrific time.
