Vice President Joe Biden sat down with PBS NewsHour for an interview where he discussed Donald Trump’s “distrust” of the intelligence community.

Trump has cast doubt on the issue that Russia interfered in the United States election, which according to some, allowed him to win over Hillary Clinton. At one point, he called it a “political witch hunt.”
During the interview, Biden seemed incredulous that Trump would consider himself more knowledgeable than the intelligence community when it comes to issues of national security.
“For a president not to have confidence in, not to be prepared to listen to, the myriad intelligence agencies, from defense intelligence to the CIA, is absolutely mindless,” he said during the interview.

He continued, “The idea that you may know more than the intelligence community knows – it’s like saying I know more about physics than my professor. I didn’t read the book, I just know I know more.”
When he was asked about Trump’s Twitter habit that he doesn’t seem to want to break, Biden replied, “Grow up Donald, grow up, time to be an adult, you’re president. Time to do something. Show us what you have.”
In spite of Biden’s comments and a meeting with the intelligence community on Friday, Trump still didn’t seem convinced that Russia had a hand in altering the election, saying in a statement that “There was absolutely no effect on the outcome of the election,” although he did say that the meeting was “constructive.”
