Being on the go has pretty much become second nature for country music superstar Carrie Underwood.

And, she doesn’t have the time to keep her house clean with such a hectic schedule. Surprisingly though, the 33-year-old singer says she doesn’t mind having a little bit of clutter in her life.

In a brand-new interview with TODAY Carrie says, “I love that our house is a mess, and there’s toys everywhere. I’m constantly trying to make it not a mess, but it is and that’s OK.”

Of course, when you’re a celebrity like Carrie, a little bit of mess can actually be a good thing, because it’s humbling. And, Carrie admits that she’s proud to have an un-glamorous piece of her world that she can return to.

“We live in a world where everything seems so shiny and pretty on Instagram and Facebook,” says Carrie. “I love it when families can just be real and say things aren’t great.”

Earlier this year, Carrie kept it real by posting a photo on Instagram letting fans know that she does the laundry for her 1-year-old son, Isaiah Michael Fisher, and hubby Mike Fisher.

People often ask me what I do after shows…tonight, I fold laundry. #lame #mom #somebodysgottadoit #cleansocks

Despite having a messy house though, Carrie’s admits that she’s not at home most of the time. And, neither is her toddler. The two of them have been on the road traveling on the “Dirty Laundry” singer’s Storyteller Tour.

“I felt a little bad that he doesn’t have ‘normal’ babyhood,” Carrie says. “My friend told me I needed to cut myself some slack and said, ‘God gave him to you and he knows what you do.’ Once she said that I was like, this is the way it’s supposed to be and I should not worry so much. I give motherhood my all. I give entertaining my all. Hopefully everything will be OK.”

She also added, “It’s the same for me as it is for any other family, where you’re just trying to work and figure out how to balance everything and be a good parent.”
