Hollywood fought back against Donald Trump on Twitter over the weekend.
In case you missed it, President-elect Donald Trump demanded that the cast of “Hamilton” apologize to his VP Mike Pence after they “harassed” him following Friday night’s performance.
“Our wonderful future V.P. Mike Pence was harassed last night at the theater by the cast of ‘Hamilton,’ cameras blazing,” Trump tweeted. “This should not happen! The theater must always be a safe and special place. The cast of ‘Hamilton’ was very rude last night to a very good man, Mike Pence. Apologize!”
“Vice President-elect Pence, I see you’re walking out, but I hope you will hear just a few more minutes,” actor Brandon Victor Dixon said to Pence in a video posted to the official ‘Hamilton’ Twitter account. “We are the diverse America who are alarmed and anxious that your new administration will not protect us, our friends, our children, our parents, or defend us and uphold our inalienable rights. But we truly hope that this show has inspired you to uphold our American values and to work on behalf of all of us.”
Dixon defended his actions on Twitter.
Following Trump’s rampage, Hollywood also took to Twitter to share their opinions of Dixon’s actions.
