“My kids love homemade banana bread, and on a morning like this one [the first day of school], it’s priority to me that my kids get a good breakfast—no matter how much time we don’t have,” Gaines wrote.

Are you as excited as we are to make this in your own kitchen?

You will need:

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 stick butter, softened
  • 2 eggs
  • 4 very ripe bananas, mashed
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
