One-time CW star Gina Rodriguez is about to become a first-time mom. The actress recently told People that she’s due in a few weeks.

You might remember Rodriguez as the titular character in Jane the Virgin on the CW from 2014 to 2019. The also voiced the main character in Carmen Sandiego from January 2019 to January 2021.
Gina Rodriguez is returning Feb. 8 with a new show, Not Dead Yet. The ABC program revolves around a “broke and newly single self-described disaster,” according to its website.
But at the moment, she’s focusing on what’s right in front of her.

“I feel like I’m taking 72 different classes from conscious parenting to hypno-birthing to doula classes to prenatal yoga to figuring out how best I can prepare to be ready for birth,” the actress told People. “Because that just feels like climbing Mount Kilimanjaro.”
Rodriguez, 38, also says she’s “really leaning on all the mothers around” her.
“All the people that have done it before me, hoping they’ll teach me and help me when I fall,” she continued. “I just got to get through the birth part. Once I get there, then I think I can see further.”
Gina Moves on to Not Dead Yet
Last week, she thanked the cast and crew of Not Dead Yet on Instagram.
“I have been on one of the most incredible journeys for the past 6 months bringing NOT DEAD YET to life,” she wrote. “The cast is outstanding, the guest stars are out of this world, the writing is funny, sweet, hopeful, heartbreaking and everything that is life and I couldn’t be more excited than to share my other baby @notdeadyetabc with you all!!!! Massive thank you to my entire cast.”

Gina Rodriguez won a Golden Globe Award in 2015 for her role as Jane Villanueva.
On the set of Jane the Virgin, she met actor/model/MMA fighter Joe LoCicero. They married in May 2019, according to her Instagram account.
