Rodgers and Munn started dating at the end of 2014, according to People.
In January 2017, the couple sparked engagement rumors when Munn stepped out with a suspicious ring on her left hand.
People reported amid the split between Rodgers and Munn that it had an amicable resolution. The two planned to stay close friends, according to the article.
But events that unfolded after their breakup shed doubts on its supposedly cheery conclusion.
Rodgers’ father publicly said Rodgers wasn’t speaking on terms with his family, according to a New York Times report published in January 2017. The football player’s younger brother openly made similar remarks about the alleged Rodgers family problems, according to People.
Rodgers was not always publicly vocal about his relationship with Munn. However, he did step in at one point in early 2017 to insist to the media that she was not at the center of a Rodgers family conflict.
Munn Finally Talks About Her Relationship with Rodgers
Munn spoke publicly for the first time about Rodgers to Andy Cohen on SiriusXM, Us Magazine reported in May 2018.
“Before I go on a talk show, you know, he’d be like, ‘Yeah, you can say something about me if you want,’” she reportedly said. “And it was like, I didn’t normally talk about relationships and those things, and he actually didn’t mind it, or kind of liked it.”
Munn continued: “I met one brother, the one who was on The Bachelorette, Jordan,” she explained. She reportedly said that the two were friendly.
The actress added: “I met the parents only a couple times, and before he and I started dating, he hadn’t spoken to the parents and one brother for like eight months.”
Munn further noted that she encouraged Rodgers to “have an honest conversation with your parents,” the actress disclosed. “And they had a nice conversation and they started coming out, my first year when I was in Green Bay in 2014 and then, um…”
“I do believe that family and fame and success can be really complicated if they’re dreams are connected to your success,” Munn said. “His father played football and is a sports chiropractor … They’re all in sports, and Aaron is one of the best, if not the best, quarterback to ever play the game. Their work has a direct connection to what he does.”
“At the end of the day, there’s a lot of complications,” Munn reportedly continued. “I don’t think either side of the road is clean. But I do think it’s not OK when you try to stand on someone’s shoulders and then throw dirt in their face, which is what I think they did with him.”
