Vows and Promises
“I’ve been sober for five weeks today,” she shared.
“I’ve been doing a pact with my partner [Bloom] and I want to quit.” she added jokingly.
Perry and Bloom have an agreement to not consume any alcohol for three months. Luke Bryan, Katy’s fellow American Idol judge, asked if she was going to have a drink.
“No, girl! I can’t cave,” she replied, “I made a promise. Three months.”
The two have been on quite the journey together. They initially began seeing one another in January 2016. In March 2017, the couple announced through their reps that they were “taking a respectful, loving space at this time.”
They got back together later that year. By September 2018, they were hitting the red carpets together again and got engaged on Valentine’s Day in 2019. In March 2020, the American Idol judge announced that her and the actor were expecting their first child together.

Perry gave birth to their daughter Daisy Dove in August 2020.
Bloom shared a bit about the rhythm of their relationship in his Flaunt magazine cover story last month.
“We’re in two very different pools. Her pool is not a pool that I necessarily understand, and I think my pool is not a pool that she necessarily understands. Sometimes things are really, really, really challenging.”
“I won’t lie. We definitely battle with our emotions and creativity,” he continued, [but] I think we’re both aware of how blessed we are to have uniquely connected in the way that we did at the time that we did, and there’s definitely never a dull moment.”
