Shooting at Sweet 16 House Party near Atlanta Leaves 2 Dead and 6 Injured

Two teenagers are dead after a shooting at a teenage gathering at a home in Douglasville, Ga., not far from Atlanta.

Six others were injured in the shooting at the party being held to celebrate a 16th birthday party, police said.

A fight is what led to the shooting, the Douglas County Sheriff’s Department stated on its Facebook page. Beyond that, information is limited.

“We know that there was a house party where well over a hundred teenagers were attending,” the post read. “A confrontation occurred that resulted in two deaths and six injured from gunshots.”

The victims who died have not been identified publicly, though both were younger than 18, the New York Post relayed. As of Monday morning, no suspects have been identified and no arrests made.

A neighboring home was struck during the gunfire, per WXIA-TV reported. It has not been determined if any of the injured were adults. More than 100 teens were said to be in attendance.

Douglassville is located about 20 miles north of Atlanta.
