On March 30, 1987, Andre the Giant and Hulk Hogan faced off in what was billed as “the biggest main event in sports history” at Wrestlemania III.

Nearly 95,000 people gathered at the Silverdome in Pontiac, Michigan to watch Andre, who had never lost a match in 15 years, take on the Hulkster, who was defending a three-year streak as WWF champion.
