Alan Rickman, star of such films as “Die Hard,” “Michael Collins,” and the “Harry Potter” series passed away suddenly at age 69.
Rickman, whose death was confirmed by his family, had privately been battling cancer, according to the The Guardian.
Fans of the beloved British actor immediately took to social media to remember the star, both for his work in theatre, television and on the big screen.
“David Bowie dead from cancer at 69,” British TV personality Piers Morgan wrote on Twitter. “Now Alan Rickman dead from cancer at 69. Two great talents, one bloody awful disease.”
