One “DWTS” contestant has been seriously injured and may not be able to perform in the finale Instagram

Will fans miss out on seeing Ginger Zee perform in the finale of “Dancing with the Stars?”

The “Good Morning America” meteorologist has been a fan-favorite this season, but an injured pelvis may keep her out of the competition all together.

Zee, who recently gave birth to her son, Adrian, was forced to end her rehearsals early this week with partner Val Chmerkovskiy after she consulted with a physical therapist. Zee is currently attending her rehearsals as a spectator and watching troupe member Jenna Johnson perform the routine.

She told ABC News that she felt a spasm in her lower back but continued to rehearse anyway.

“By Wednesday, I went to see a physical therapist for the show, Gina [Minchella], and she said my pelvis was forward and an inch off,” she said. “I came back the next day, and [my pelvis] was backward and an inch the other way. My pelvis was just moving all over.”

She continued, “My pelvis is very loose and unstable […] because I just had a baby.”

Zee’s physical therapist, Gina Minchella revealed that an injury like Zee’s could happen to anyone.

“It happens a lot to women because our hormones play a huge role in the ligaments in our pelvis,” Minchella said, adding, “For someone who is dancing with extreme conditions from flips to lifts and one-legged turns and all that, this kind of thing can happen a lot faster.”

Zee plans on performing on Monday night’s part one of the season finale. However, she won’t know if she will be able to dance until the start of the show. She will be up against model Nyle DiMarco and MMA fighter Paige VanZant for the Mirror Ball trophy.

“It’s not like I’m taking a risk that I’m going to injure my back for the rest of my life,” she said. “I’m planning to [perform,] so we’re going to do everything we can to rest.”
