A local ABC affiliate in Minnesota reported this week that recently deceased music legend Prince had signed up for an out-patient rehab program in the days leading up to his sudden death in April.
Reports claim the singer, who others have claimed suffered a Percocet overdose a week before his death, looked for help because he wanted to seek alternative methods that didn’t involve prescription drugs to combat longtime hip pain.
“Sources said Prince was seeing a doctor to help him deal with his chronic hip pain and that part of the out-patient treatment included efforts, by Prince, to move away from using medication prescribed to treat his severe pain,” Jay Kolls wrote for KSTP.
“They did not say Prince’s treatment program automatically means he was addicted to controlled substances.”
KSTP in Minnesota also reported that the contents of a search warrant carried out on Prince’s home and a local pharmacy would be released by the end of the week, and that autopsy results could come any day now.
