Reports are coming in that Prince overdosed on this highly addictive and all too common drug AP

According to TMZ, last Friday, Prince’s private jet made an emergency landing in Illinois, less than an hour away from its Minnesota destination.

Though initial reports said that Prince had the flu, TMZ revealed on Thursday that Prince’s plane made the emergency landing so Prince could be treated for a drug overdose.

On Thursday the legendary musician died of as yet undetermined causes, which many have assumed were related to a possible overdose.

Though this does not diminish his legacy in any way, TMZ is now reporting that Prince’s Friday night overdose was caused by taking too much Percocet, which is a highly addictive opioid painkiller. Prince had reportedly battled pain in his hips for many years, leading up to a 2010 operation.
