If you’ve ever been staring at a menu at a fast-food restaurant, and nothing is striking your fancy — odds are, there are lots of different options available you don’t even know about.

Just about every popular fast-food chain offers secret menu items that are available, as long as you are privy to their existence.

Here are a few of the unique items you can order the next time at your favorite restaurants:

1. Arby’s

Meat Mountain

Quite a few of the secret menu items at the roast beef giant have become regular menu items. However, the famous Meat Mountain still stands alone as one of the more famous “secret” sandwiches around. The Meat Mountain includes chicken tenders, roast turkey, ham, corned beef, brisket, Angus steak, bacon, cheese and, naturally, roast beef. It’s a carnivore’s dream. (Photo: Mike Mozart / Flickr)

2. Burger King

Suicide Burger

It’s not surprising Burger King has an extensive secret menu. The chain has been pretty adventurous with its creations for quite some time.

BK BLT: A Whopper with bacon

BK Club: A chicken sandwich with lettuce, tomato, bacon and cheese

Rodeo Burger: A cheeseburger with onion rings and barbecue sauce

Suicide Burger: Four patties and four pieces of bacon

3. Chick-fil-A

The Spicy Char

As long as you don’t want to get any of them on Sundays, Chick-fil-A’s secret menu items add even more delicious options to satisfy your yard bird cravings. There are three great sandwich varieties.

Buffalo Chicken Sandwich: A regular Chick-fil-A chicken sandwich with buffalo sauce added

Fried Chicken Club: Adds bacon, lettuce, tomato and cheese to the classic sandwich

Spicy Char: An extra spicy grilled chicken sandwich for the more adventurous diners

4. In-N-Out Burger

Animal style

Perhaps the most famous not-so-secret menu.

3×3 and 4×4: Burgers with extra patties, double, three or four (or more!)

Protein style: Ditch the carbs with a lettuce wrap minus the bun

Animal style: Extra In-N-Out sauce, pickles, grilled onions and mustard on the burger; cheese, sauce and grilled onions on the fries

5. McDonald’s

Although some of the items vary by region and state, McDonald’s has some pretty interesting twists on its traditional menu.

Big McChicken: If you’re extra hungry, it’s a Big Mac with McChicken patties as the buns

McGangBang: A double cheeseburger stacked with a McChicken

If your appetite isn’t quite up to those lofty standards, perhaps a simple Grilled Cheese Sandwich or a Poor Man’s Big Mac is more your speed? The latter is a cheaper version of the regular Big Mac sans the middle bun. You can wash either down with a delicious Neapolitan milkshake, a mix of their strawberry, chocolate and vanilla shakes. Yum. (Photo: Carl Johan Crafoord / Flickr)
