His song choice clearly earned him extra points from coach Pharrell but Blake Shelton couldn’t help but try to beg Nhira to join his team. When he learned that they both hail from Oklahoma, he thought he might have a shot.

“Okies got to stick together,” he said after dancing around to “Happy” and hearing that he had a shot at being Nhira’s coach for the season. “That may be all we have to talk about, but that’s enough.”

Nhira also revealed that he started singing at the age of four and the first song he sang was “Jesus Loves Me.” After some coaxing from the audience and the coaches, he sang that song to the crowd.

In the end, Nhira wound up on Pharrell’s team. It’s always a good idea to butter up the coaches on “The Voice.”
