One intrepid YouTuber created an isolated vocal track of “We Are the Champions” by Queen just in time for New Year’s Eve celebrations.

The video, uploaded to YouTube this week, shows a compilation of clips of Queen singer Freddie Mercury set to a version of “We Are the Champions” that removes all of the other music on the track.

All that is left is the power of Mercury’s voice and some light backing vocals from the rest of the band.

The folks at explained their decision to cut the audio together, noting that it was meant as a tribute to Mercury.

“We love Queen and Freddie Mercury, so we’ve edited 4 concert films including a rare recording session of ‘We Are The Champions’ and synced them all up to the isolated vocals in honor of the late, great, Freddie Mercury,” they wrote.

“This video showcases his presence and consistency as the ultimate stage man. RIP Freddie. You are a rock god.”
