Mike Lee set the record straight with Chris Cuomo over an “absurd manipulation” of his Susan Rice comments

An early April report revealed that Susan Rice, former US ambassador to the United Nations and national security adviser in President Obama’s administration, requested information on private citizens with close connections to President Trump’s transition team. The report comes nearly a month after President Trump accused Obama of wiretapping Trump Towers.

On a Wednesday segment of “New Day,” CNN anchor Chris Cuomo and Sen. Mike Lee (R-Utah) discussed the revelation:

Cuomo and Lee went back and forth, arguing over whether or not Lee made a comment suggesting Rice’s actions were politically motivated.

“I’ve done no such thing, for the third time on your program this morning,” Lee asserted. He repeated his previous statements that he was unsure of the specific motivations in Rice’s case.

Cuomo accused Lee of making Rice prove that her actions were not politically motivated.

Lee then called Cuomo’s line of questioning an “absolutely absurd manipulation” of what he said.
