North West just confronted the paparazzi with a fair and honest question and the pap’s answer was considered by many to be “creepy.”

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West’s children have a history of frowning upon the paparazzi. It’s a little confusing, though, because, well, they’re super famous. Their parents are super famous. And they’ve grown up around cameras on the daily. Whether it’s from reality show production crews, their own parent’s cell phones posting videos and pictures to social media, or strangers on the street, they’re always in the spotlight.
North West, 9, was once on camera hiding under a massive coat, begging her mother to stop taking pictures. The interaction went viral with almost 16.5 million views on Instagram alone.
Perhaps it was just an age thing, or maybe she really doesn’t like having her picture taken. Because her question the other day made a lot of people stop and think.
“Why do you have to wait for us all the time?” North asked swarms of flashing cameras. She was in Paris during Fashion Week with her mom, Ryan and Tracy Romulus, and Cici Bussey. The two girls (Ryan is also 9) led the crowd of celebrities out the doors of a building towards a car.
One of the paps responded, “Because you’re so famous, we love you, North!”
The kids look obviously annoyed while Kim is her usual demure self. She does a slow and casual “oh just me posing like a sexy kitten” thing before turning to get in the car. And it really all does pose the question:
Why are we so obsessed with famous people just because they’re famous? Especially children of famous people?
Social media comments have exploded with all sorts of commentary on this. Some have pointed to Kylie Jenner’s recent admission of hating having her photo taken constantly. They’ve asked how Kim Kardashian can possibly ignore her younger sister’s fate and seemingly push North ahead of her all the time into the spotlight.
North isn’t the only kid in the family who seems irritated at her lack of privacy. Just last month, her brothers Saint and Psalm told Kim’s 322M Instagram followers that “If you’re watching this, I hate you.”
Kim Kardashian was filming a livestream on the way to a Jimmy Fallon interview. Her sons proceeded to crash her Tonight Show interview to the point of Kim nearly breaking.
Good god. These no-talent nobodies who are only rich and famous bc Kim’s “leaked” sex tape started trending. 🙄 Kris Jenner would sell her own mother, naked, down the river for more publicity and fame. Kim is apparently following her mother’s example. These kids are going to sadly be exploited trainwrecks as they grow up. I’m not a proponent of censorship, but really? Why are these purely opportunistic subhumans still being given a platform? Of course it’s bc people still watch.
