The student, 17, was caught on surveillance video violently attacking the aide, who took away his video game. He continued to beat and kick her after she had already been knocked out, delivering several more violent blows to the head.

$1 Million Bail

The incident happened at Matanzas High School in Palm Coast, Fla., on Feb. 21. Officials said the woman was taken to the hospital and has since been released.

The teen, meanwhile, is being held in Flagler County Jail on $1 million bail.

Other employees of the school ran to her defense, the video showed, as she was unconscious and unable to defend herself while the male student continued to punch and kick her.

According to a charging affidavit, after the attack, the teen asked what would happen to him, and when the deputy said he didn’t know, the teen began to angrily kick a desk and computer system. The computer monitor fell to the floor as a result, the affidavit said.

After that, as the teen was led away in handcuffs he passed by where the aide was being treated by medical personnel. He spit in the victim’s direction and yelled he would kill her, per the affidavit and body camera video.

The student is facing up to 30 years in prison if convicted of the first-degree felony.
