Well, it looks like the timeless musicians are implanting themselves in yet another forum, but this time, they’re letting the world know beforehand.
In The Spotlight
During a Super Bowl commercial, the band announced that they will be headlining a Las Vegas residency at the MSG Sphere. The brand-new arena is making its debut in the fall of this year at the Venetian Resort.
The iconic rock band will be the first act to grace the sphere’s stage performing what’s being described as a “futuristic adventure in a unique desert landscape.”
This will be the band’s first live performance in the past four years. One of their members, drummer Larry Mullen Jr., won’t be joining them on this particular journey as he prepares to undergo surgery for his elbows, knees, and neck.
Together In Spirit
Bram Van Den Berg will be filling in for Mullen during the residency. The rest of the band members released a joint statement expressing their sorrow over performing without their beloved drummer, but also regarding Van Den Berg with the utmost gratitude, respect, and appreciation for taking the mantle and coming along for the wild ride.
“It’s going to take all we’ve got to approach the Sphere without our bandmate in the drum seat, but Larry has joined us in welcoming Bram van den Berg who is a force in his own right.”
The band has also spoken of their overwhelming excitement for the residency and how it will be an incredible reunion with the fans.
“The truth is we miss them as much as they appear to miss us.”
