The clip shows Tekashi on the bathroom floor while the men surrounding him continue to punch and kick him repeatedly. As they assault him, the men can be heard yelling “shut the f–k up.”

The rapper usually has security accompany him out in public, but he was solo at the LA Fitness facility when the assault took place. Employees called authorities and emergency services to the scene. That took Tekashi to a hospital nearby where he was treated for cuts and bruises as well as injuries to his back, jaw, and ribs.

Lance Lazzaro, 6ix9ine’s attorney, stated that he is planning to get in touch with the Feds in order to request additional security for the rapper. Tekashi is a convicted felon who was released early from prison for revealing the identities and additional details of his fellow gang members. They are now serving prison time. It is unclear whether or not the assault was retaliation for Tekashi cooperating with authorities.

The rapper pleaded guilty to racketeering and a few other charges. He was staring down the barrel of several decades in prison until he was approached with a plea deal if he agreed to testify against his other gang members.

According to 6ix9ine’s testimony against Anthony “Harv” Ellison and Aljermiah “Nuke” Mack , he was only using the gang for “street credibility.”

The rapper has been quite bold about being labeled a “snitch.” He’s taken video of himself walking around neighborhoods heavily occupied by the very gang members he turned on.

Years ago, the rapper appeared on a podcast called Impaulsive where he discussed his decision to cooperate with police. He stated that he didn’t see a point in throwing his life away. “People don’t know what I’ve been through.”

“Where was the loyalty to me?” the rapper stated.
