Rosie Moore is more than just a scientist. She’s also a model.

Her day job entails wrestling with alligators, snakes and sharks and other potentially deadly creatures. OK, maybe not so much wrestle, but study. That’s her science, as she works for the coastal water resources management team in Delray Beach, Florida.
Moore, 26, spends the rest of her time modeling. She makes money from both.
“People always joke on Instagram that I’m like Hannah Montana, because I’ll post and I’ll be out in the field doing crazy things or up to my waist in mud, and then the next thing they know I’ll be at a luxury event in full hair and makeup and heels and a dress,” she said in as-told-to essay for Insider.

One of the coolest things she’s experienced as a scientist, she added, was seeing crocodile eggs hatch.
“I love the unpredictability,” Moore said of her field. “You never know what you’re going to see. You can go out thinking it’s a normal day but then you find the most elusive snake that you’ve never seen before in your life and it could be the craziest night.”
Moore actually got into modeling almost by accident, she said. In other words, it was not something she set out to do.
But she views it as one way to spread the message about her field — and perhaps encourage more girls to join.

“There’s a little niche for girls that can free-dive well to model with sharks or underwater, so I started meeting up with photographers for some product shoots and things like that,” Moore said.
“So I can show other girls that it’s cool to have hobbies and be okay with going outside.”
