Houston-area Taco Bell employee learns the hard way that expressing an opinion about police officers at work can have serious consequences

Police lives matter, and, like all of us, they definitely deserve a taco or two after a long day’s work.

A Houston-area Taco Bell employee learned the hard way that voicing your opinion can have serious consequences when he scribbled “Fuck Pigs” on an HPD officer’s order.

The officer was not named in a report by The Chronicle, but Jay Bone posted a photo of the evidence to Taco Bell’s Facebook page.

Taco Bell was quick to respond in a comment to the post that they take the situation “very seriously,” and “are looking into the matter immediately.”

Things move fast around here because, two days later, the derogatory employee was fired for his actions and what T-Bell described as discrimination.

Joe Gamaldi, a representative from the HPD Officers Union, said the delicious fast food company’s response was solid:

“Taco Bell really stepped up to the plate. They fired the employee, and not only apologized to the officer, but to every single Houston police officer.”

We all deserve a taco on a Tuesday, especially HPD officers, who have been deal with incredibly difficult situations on a daily basis.
