Students who knew the squirrel shared their feelings with KHOU:
“I remember when he turned down my strawberry for a cheesy Cheeto. He made my day,” UH student Julia Smelley said.
“Every time I saw this squirrel before my test, midterm or final, it wished me good luck,” UH communications student Matt Flora said.
“It gave me the power and knowledge for me to pass my communication law test once,” UH student Emmanuel Gonzalez said.
The U of H community isn’t quite ready to say goodbye, and a Go Fund Me page was set up for donations to cover the planned taxidermy to preserve his legacy.
But students’ sad spirits were terminated Tuesday when it was announced that Arnold Schwarzenegger is the class of 2017’s commencement speaker.
