Why Was Brad Pitt Always Eating in ‘Ocean’s Eleven’

Brad Pitt has always been one of the fittest actors in Hollywood, and that remains the case today — even at the age of 58.

It was definitely true in the 2001 hit Ocean’s Eleven, which also starred George Clooney, Julia Roberts, Matt Damon, Andy Garcia, Bernie Mac and Casey Affleck.

Yes, Pitt was fit then. This despite the fact his character, Rusty Ryan, is eating or drinking something in nearly every scene. So much so, that Supercut made a four-minute video of just Pitt … as Ryan … chewing on something.

So in case you haven’t guess it yet, this was in fact by design. And designed by Pitt himself, no less.

Per Rolling Stone:

“Pitt figured that since the Ocean gang was on such a tight schedule, his character would have to grab fast-food whenever he could. The constant snacking ended up showing Rusty’s unflappability.”

Ocean’s Eleven preceded three sequels — Ocean’s Twelve (2004), Ocean’s Thirteen (2007) and Ocean’s Eight (2018). And who knows? Maybe there will be another on the way.

If so, we can almost guarantee you no one will eat as much as Rusty Ryan did.
