Louis Tomlinson of One Direction has spoken publicly for the first time since his mother Johanna Deakin passed away on Wednesday at the young age of 43.

On Saturday morning, Tomlinson tweeted out a thank you to his fans for their support and asked them to tune into his upcoming “X Factor” performance, during which he will pay tribute to his late mother.

“All the support has been incredible!” he wrote. “Let’s do this together tonight.”

Tomlinson’s mother passed away after a battle with leukemia. She leaves behind seven children and one grandchild, Tomlinson’s son Freddie.

In addition to condolences from his former bandmates, Briana Jungwirte, Tomlinson’s ex-girlfriend and Freddie’s mother, also paid tribute to Deakin on social media, saying, “My heart aches. Every time I look at Freddie I see you in him Jay. I will always remember the times we shared and the talks we had.”
