There’s no question that Anne Heche was a talented performer, or that more opportunities and roles certainly awaited her.

Apparently, that may have included a run on the Fox hit The Masked Singer.

Per Nellie Andreeva of Deadline, Heche had been in talks with the show about potentially appearing prior to the car accident that took her life. Heche, 53, was declared brain dead and passed late last week.

According to Andreeva, there was “conflicting information” on whether Heche would appear on The Masked Singer. The latest season started filming about a week prior to Heche’s accident and she had not yet been booked.

“I also hear that the actor had a preliminary agreement in place; the network likely is casting a wider net for each season in case Covid or scheduling issues arise,” Andreeva wrote.

These types of performance-based reality shows were nothing new to Heche. She had appeared on the 2020 season of Dancing with the Stars. She supposedly was planning to return to reality competition sphere somewhere prior to her death.

Tragic Death

Heche had wrecked her vehicle into a garage at an apartment complex just more than a week ago. She then was recorded speeding off and crashing into a house, which engulfed both the car and home in flames.

Heche was declared ‘legally dead’ on Friday but remained mechanically alive until a donor was found for her.

“Today we lost a bright light, a kind and most joyful soul, a loving mother, and a loyal friend,” a representative wrote in a statement.

“Anne will be deeply missed but she lives on through her beautiful sons, her iconic body of work, and her passionate advocacy. Her bravery for always standing in her truth, spreading her message of love and acceptance, will continue to have a lasting impact.”

Back in 2000, Heche drove from Los Angeles to Fresno, parked her SUV on the roadside, and wearing only a bra and shorts, walked through the desert, stopping only to knock on the door of a stranger’s house. She later admitted to taking ecstasy at the time.

Heche has played key roles in movies such as John QWag the DogCedar Rapids and My Friend Dahmer.

Heche had several projects in the works, with her upcoming Lifetime movie Girl in Room 13 set to premiere Sept. 17. Lifetime has indicated that it will not change the release date.
