Obama visited the Washington, D.C. organization Thursday to deliver presents and meet with approximately 50 children to deliver holiday cheer.
The children greeted the former president with handshakes and cheers as he walked in with a big sack of toys slung over his shoulder.
“There’s no better time than the holiday season to reach out and give back to our communities,” Obama wrote on Twitter with a photo of the visit. “Great to hear from young people at the Boys & Girls Club in DC today.”

The Obamas chose to stay in Washington, D.C., after their eight years in the White House so their daughter, Sasha, could finish high school at the Sidwell Friends school. The family has purchased a home in the Kalorama neighborhood of the capital city.
Since leaving the White House, the Obamas have surprised students on multiple occasion at local schools. They’re also focusing on training the next generation of leaders through their charitable organization, The Obama Foundation.
