Britney Deletes Instagram, Fueling Legal Speculations With Her Dad

Britney Spears may have just deleted her Instagram account and everyone’s guessing why. There seem to be two major speculations. She may have deleted her account because she’s on her honeymoon with Sam Asghari. Or it could be a response to her father’s attorney requesting a deposition in response to ongoing legal issues.

While it’s well known at this point that Britney has been “freed,” i.e., released from her father’s conservatorship, she’s actually not completely in the clear. Her father, Jamie Spears, is now going after her for defamation. TMZ reports that Jamie Spears wants Britney to discuss the allegations she’s made on social media while under oath.

Specifically, Jamie Spears wants Britney to talk about her claims that he forced her to give up 8 tubes of her own plasma for medical treatments, was forced to attend therapy against her will, and was disallowed to have pain relievers.

Many are wondering if the move to delete (or deactivate) her Instagram account was in response to Jamie’s attorney’s request.

Britney Spears’ memoir was also mentioned by her father’s attorney. This might just be a bullying tactic to scare Britney from sharing the truth, according to her attorney Mathew Rosengart. In fact, TMZ reports that Rosengart is refusing to schedule a deposition at all.

On the other hand, Britney once deleted her Instagram before. As Glamour Magazine points out, the last time was actually after becoming engaged to Sam Asghari. So, it’s not a stretch to assume that she could have simply wanted peace and quiet with her new husband.

And when you remember that this is Britney Spears we’re talking about, it’s pretty understandable that she’d want some space. She and Asghari planned a quiet wedding and couldn’t even have that. (Britney’s ex, Jason Alexander, whom she was married to for a mere 55 hours, crashed their wedding and subsequently got arrested).

Did Britney permanently delete her Instagram? Was it because of her dad? Does she just want some privacy? Was it something else?

In the meantime, you can still see Britney’s Twitter posts. She hasn’t posted for a week, but it’s still up there. So, this wasn’t a total social media purge. It’s just one that’s leaving us scratching our heads.
