Ellen DeGeneres continues to spread happiness and give hope for the future of America YouTube/Ellen DeGeneres

Thank you again, Ellen DeGeneres!

On Thursday, DeGeneres calmed the nerves of some Americans and brought smiles to all our faces with another inspiring message to give hope for America’s future.

“You may have heard that there was a presidential election on Tuesday. The big winner was alcohol,” she said. “Obviously, a lot of people were disappointed with the results. My job is to be hopeful and make everybody feel good, so I am going to keep doing that as long as I can.”

Her audience cheered in response.

“I will do it because I love you and I have very expensive taste in cars,” she joked. She quoted Eleanor Roosevelt, saying “it is better to light a candle than curse the darkness.”

“If you are feeling a little anxious or scared, I am here to tell you that things can turn out okay!” DeGeneres said.

She then introduced a baby iguana escaping a beach of iguana-eating snakes. As the harrowing clip played, DeGeneres assured the audience, “I’m not going to show you sad stuff.” And when the iguana got away, the audience cheered.

“He made it. That little baby iguana got away. And that’s what we are going to do,” she said. “If we feel like there are snakes coming at you from every direction, no matter what your snake is, there is hope for your little iguana.”

Well said!
