On Sunday, members of the Greenfield, Wisconsin, fire department arrived just in time when a man — who was shoveling his driveway after a massive snowstorm — suffered a cardiac emergency.

Not only did the firefighters transport him to the hospital, but they also returned to the man’s house and finished the shoveling job.

Shortly following the incident, the Greenfield Fire Department started the #ShovelItForward hashtag and inspired residents suffering from snowstorms in the Midwest and Northeast to lend a helping hand to their neighbors.
