The star of “Flip or Flop” and his wife, Christina El Moussa announced their separation just months ago and now, he’s facing some backlash over nasty rumors that are circulating about them.

According to E! News, InTouch magazine wrote in their upcoming Jan. 30 issue (on newsstands Friday) that Tarek frequently refers to his soon-to-be ex wife as a “whore.”

One thing in the article was reportedly true about the couple’s separation. They have both hired separate publicists in the wake of the split.

A rumor that reportedly didn’t sit well with Tarek was that he “found humor in insulting his wife in repeated verbal attacks. Some of his bad behavior was even caught on camera [in footage that never aired],” the magazine reported.

“He said things like that all the time and then laughed about it,” a source told InTouch. “Tarek treated Christina like garbage.”

This week, Tarek posted a message to fans on Twitter and Facebook to help clear up any confusion.

“No matter the lies, innuendo, salacious gossip and ‘fake news’ that is thrown at me from irresponsible media outlets via anonymous sources, I will keep my focus on what matters most, which is co-parenting our children and working hard on our business,” he wrote.

The rumors are just part of the hardship the could has faced since announcing their separation in December 2016. As soon as they announced the split, news of a scary incident involving guns and police officers responding to their home flooded headlines. They reportedly split months earlier and attended marriage counseling before finally calling it quits before the holidays.

They have maintained that their main focus during this difficult time is their two children and though they claimed that they will keep their relationship professional for their HGTV show, “Flip or Flop,” it is reported that the show will stop filming in 2017.
