Actress Mary Marg Helgenberger is known for her role as a scientist in CSI: Crime Scene Investigation and Under the Dome.

The Nebraska native is an alumnus of Northwestern University and was awarded an Alumnae Award from Evanston. The actress has won a Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actress – Series, Miniseries, or Television Film for her work as K.C Koloski on the ABC show China Beach. From the show, she won an Emmy award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series.

Next came a wide range of tv shows and films, including Stephen Spielberg’s Always, Tootsie, Erin Brockovich, Mr. Brooks, Matlock,  Happy face Murders, and In Good Company. She was Karen Dicilia in Gold Coast, Alison Sinclair in Bad Boys, and was in A Dog’s Journey. Later, she landed her role as Dr. Laura Baker in Species II. In an episode of ER, she worked with George Clooney. She has appeared on the Frasier sitcom, starred in 1989 film horror film After Midnight, Fire Down Below, The Cowboy Way with Woody Harrelson, and Spenser: For Hire.

In 2000, Marg started her most famous role, Catherine Willows, on CSI: Crime Scene Investigation. She relinquished this role only after 12 seasons. Afterward, she continued to guest star, including in season seven, “Leaving Las Vegas”. Marg was awarded a People’s Choice Award in 2005 for CSI: Crime Scene Investigation.

 From her successful career, she is one of primetime’s 5 highest-paid women. She is estimated to have a net worth of $9.5 Million. In 2012, Helgenberger received her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Most recently, she acts on All Rise, where she is known as judge Lisa Benner.

Outside of acting, Helgenberger does do charity work. In 2012, she was an ambassador for Stand Up To Cancer at the Safeway Foundation.

Husband and Children

Helgenberger was married to husband actor Alan Rosenberg for nearly two decades. At 19 years of marriage, they called it quits and divorced in 2010. They met in 1984 on the soap opera Ryan’s Hope set, where Rosenberg was guest-starring, and she was playing Siobhan Ryan. They didn’t start dating, however, for two years until Rosenberg had divorced his wife, actress Robin Bartlett. Then they got married two years later. The set where they met wasn’t the last time they worked together. Alan Rosenberg appeared on wife’s fulltime gig as Adam Novak.

His acting career included many guest appearances on TV shows like House, The Guardian, LA Law, and Numb3rs. He also starred in Columbus Day. He was also the Screen Actors Guild president for four years and was nominated and nominated for multiple Screen actors guild awards. The couple was married for 19 years before they decided to call it quits.

Hugh Helgenberger

Named after the actress’s late father, Hugh is the only child that the couple had, as actress Marg Helgenberger couldn’t get pregnant again. He is now in his thirties and living his life off-screen. He did not choose to become an actor. He lives his life privately, having married Miki Takeuchi in 2018.
