Jeffery Dahmer’s terrifying memory has been brought back to life with the Netflix docuseries, Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story. Now, you can buy the eyeglasses the real Dahmer wore in prison for $150,000. Taylor James, who runs Cult Collectibles out of Vancouver, Canada is the one selling them.

Love it or hate it, there is no questioning the popularity of Monster. It reportedly made the most-watched debut in Netflix history. Without question, Evan Peters has been fantastic in the lead role. Richard Jenkins is equally riveting as Dahmer’s father and Molly Ringwald as his stepmother. Along with that, Niecy Nash may be up for a few awards as Dahmer’s neighbor, Glenda Cleveland.

So the show is disturbing, the acting is remarkable, and the popularity of an individual who died in prison is back on the rise. All of it is understandably too much for some people.

As some might say, Monster is an excellent docuseries that you just can’t recommend.

The real-life Dahmer was born in Milwaukee in 1960, then spent his formative years in Bath, Ohio, outside of Akron. He admitted to killing and dismembering 17 men and boys between 1978 and 1991, most in Milwaukee. Dahmer was always said to have been polite and wildly helpful in police investigations (and the show portrays as much).

Dahmer was killed in prison in 1994 by fellow inmate Christopher Scarver. He also killed another inmate, Jesse Anderson, at the same time as Dahmer’s murder. Scarver, who was believed to have suffered from schizophrenia, beat Dahmer with a metal pipe while left unsupervised to clean the bathroom. Scarver went back to his cell, where he reported the murder to the prison guard, reportedly saying that “God told me to do it.”

That was the last time Dahmer wore the glasses that you can apparently now buy. Why you’d actually want them is anyone’s guess.
