Trent Jackson has responded in court documents to claims made by his aunt, Katherine Jackson.
According to court documents obtained by PEOPLE, Trent Jackson says his aunt’s claims that he “manipulates” and “abuses” her are not “authentic or trustworthy.”
He went on to claim that the Jackson family matriarch “may be the subject of undue influence perpetrated by some of her own children, who are keeping her secluded in London while they seek to separate her from people she is close with, like [Trent], who might resist their efforts to take control over her interest in Michael Jackson’s estate.”
Trent Jackson pointed the finger at Jermaine Jackson as one of the people keeping Katherine away.
Last month, Katherine Jackson alleged that her nephew gained access to her bank accounts, was using credit cards without permission, and had subjected her to years of mental and emotional abuse. She reportedly attempted to fire Trent Jackson, her nephew through marriage, and ordered him out of the house before leaving the country.
Katherine Jackson is currently in London with her daughter, Janet Jackson. She stated she is “afraid to go home with Trent there” and “fears he could physically harm her for terminating him.”
In his documents, Trent Jackson likened Katherine’s trip to London to a 2012 incident in which she was allegedly taken to Arizona against her will. After the incident, Trent Jackson claims that Katherine asked him to be her caretaker, adding, “I don’t know why everyone can’t just get along.”
He also said the late Michael Jackson requested in 2004 that he take care of Katherine.
“Michael gave me specific instructions on how to care for his mother, whom he deeply loved,” Trent Jackson stated.
Another hearing has been scheduled for Thursday.
